One of the standout features here is the variety of smoothies available: from the refreshing Mango & Pineapple Smoothie to the deliciously vibrant Mixed Berries Smoothie. Each 16 oz serving, ranging in price from $9.90 to $10.00, is expertly crafted to offer a burst of flavor that’s perfect for a breezy morning.
But La Fontaine Cafe isn’t just about drinks. The desserts are equally enticing, featuring delightful options like the Gluten-free Vegan French Macarons priced at $17.50 for a box of six, and mouthwatering Pistachio Baklava. My significant other and I ordered a PB&J and a Nutella latte, and both were fantastic. Even as someone who isn't usually a big fan of Nutella, I was blown away by how delicious the latte was. The owner was incredibly kind and personable, offering us great recommendations. It's the perfect spot for anyone looking to relax and savor some quality food and drink. Highly recommend! ”

“ This is definitely one of my favorite cafés in Montclair, if not in the entire county. The food is admittedly a tad pricy, but very much worth it. I went here for lunch with my mother before shopping at the nearby used bookstore. The layout is intelligent and has a great contemporary French theme. There is also outdoor seating, which I would have used had it not been scorching hot outside. The owner is very kind and personable with customers, and you can catch her working in the dining area. I'm not sure why, but I like that a lot. We ordered the pineapple mango smoothie, a pistachio latté, the chicken chipotle sandwich, and a beef and lamb gyro-type sandwich (I forget the name). Everything was delicious. My smoothie was not overly sweet an tasted very fresh. The chicken sandwich is one of the best sandwiches I have had in a very long time. The chicken was tender and the overall flavor combination was well thought-out. I was skeptical about the addition of guacamole, but it grew on me very quickly. The Turkish bread the sandwiches are served on is astonishing. My mother told the owner that she should considering selling the bread on its own - it was chewy with a satisfying and crispy crust. My mother thoroughly enjoyed her coffee and sandwich. Even though the food is somewhat pricy, the sandwiches are large and you can reasonably make two meals out of it. Add this onto the fact that everything is made-to-order, La Fontaine is a gem in a town with really good food. Even though I live a bit far from here, I am already planning my next trip. I highly recommend stopping by La Fontaine Café if you are in the Montclair area. It will be worth your while! ”
“ This place is love. How can you not find something amazing at this quiet little cafe tucked into a corner in Montclair? They always greet you with a warm smile and great service! The Turkish sesame bagel was delicious and incredibly flavorful. Chocolate chip cookies are made just right - soft dough, hard chips, and they melt in your mouth. This is a great getaway spot to escape a hectic day and get some yummy treats. Fair prices for a great variety. Wheelchair accessible with a ramp located outside. You gotta go! ”
“ The coffee is phenomenal. So far have tried the Pistachio, Oreo, Nutella, Biscoff lattes (iced and hot), all of which are amazing. Out of the myriad coffee shops/ cafes in Montclair that offer amazing specialty coffees, Fontaine's tastes so yummy without compromising coffee flavor. They also have out of this world crepes and a chicken sandwich that was delish. EDIT: I tried their pumpkin flavored coffee and it was amazing! So subtly tasty without that ultra-sugary "pumpkin" sweetener most PSLs have. This had nice seasonal cinnamon touch to it. The ambiance is cozy and fun, with funky artwork on the walls. It's a pleasant atmosphere. The lovely owner and staff are what sets this place apart. Highly recommend 10/10 ”
